Last week was the 22nd anniversary of the first version of Pretty Good Solitaire, a collection of just 5 games released on July 19, 1995. This week is the 20th anniversary of Pretty Good Solitaire 97, which was version 3.0. This version was the first 32 bit Windows 95 version, and the version that turned Pretty Good Solitaire into a real success.
Pretty Good Solitaire 97 contained 160 games, a huge jump from the 100 games in version 2.2 and a huge number at the time. It was from that version on that Pretty Good Solitaire could be said to be the largest collection of solitaire games.
Much of the pre-version 3 Pretty Good Solitaire had to be rewritten for version 3, but Pretty Good Solitaire 97 formed the core of what Pretty Good Solitaire is today.
Twenty years later, we are now at version 17.1 and 950 games. All of the 10 new games in version 17.1 are 3 and 4 deck games.
