MORE INFORMATION

How it came about:
http://www.asharewarelife.com/2007/10/pretty-good-s-2.html
This 30 game Mac version is just the beginning. We are already working
on the next version, which will contain 101 games (which will be a free
upgrade to all Mac Edition users). After that, we hope to continue bringing
over games and features from the Windows version into the Mac version.
Note that the Mac version is not just a port of the Windows version - it is in
fact a complete rewrite. The visual interface of the Mac Edition is designed
as a native Mac application, so it looks like a Mac application and not like a
Windows application.
The Mac Edition is a part of our long term plan for a complete rewrite of
Pretty Good Solitaire. We will not only be bringing over the features from
the Windows version, but the new code will allow us to do things that we
either couldn't do or couldn't do easily in the Windows version. Eventually
this rewrite will replace the Windows version of Pretty Good Solitaire
as well.
REQUESTS FOR GAMES
The games that will be in the 101 game version are determined already,
but if you have a favorite game that you would like to see in the Mac
version quickly, just email me at [email protected] with the game name.
I'll see if I can get it into the 200 or 300 game version.
MAC VERSION TIPS AND TRICKS
Here's a few hints and tips when playing the Mac version:
The Mac has no right click. Therefore to use the smart move feature (right
click in the Windows version), simply just click rather than drag and drop.
In the Mac version, you can use any card back from any installed card set
rather than just the card backs in the currently selected card set. Just
select the card set you want to select the backs from in the card backs
window.
This initial version is limited to 3 card sizes. However, there is a way to
play with the new larger card sizes from version 12 of the Windows
version. Just download the Medieval Card Set from
http://www.goodsol.com/mac/cardsets.html . Set the card size to
automatic and select the Medieval Card Set as the current card set (this is
in the Preferences menu). Then also select a card back from the Medieval
card set. You will then be able to play with the larger size cards. The 101
game version will have 5 card sizes for all card sets.
The Mac version can be played entirely with the keyboard. Go to the
Preferences menu, select Preferences, in the General area check the box
that says "Display Keyboard Shortcuts". Each pile will be labeled with a
key you can press to move the top card in that pile.
Thanksgiving Card Set

It's the season for the Thanksgiving Card Set. This card set with
Thanksgiving holiday images on the cards can be downloaded from
http://www.goodsol.com/pgs/cardsets.html#thanksgiving (the Mac version
of the card set can be downloaded from
http://www.goodsol.com/mac/cardsets.html ).
The card set works in Pretty Good Solitaire version 8 or higher and looks
great with the new large card sizes in version 12. If you haven't yet
downloaded Pretty Good Solitaire version 12 with 700 games, it can be
downloaded from http://www.goodsol.com/download.html
