A new version of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows is available!

Version 15.20.1 is a maintenance release that fixes or improves a few things:

1) Version 15.20.1 fixes a long standing bug in Penguin and a couple of other related games that affected a small number of users.

2) Version 15.20.1 makes some improvements in the look and feel of the game for Windows 10. In particular, it changes the default main menu colors to look similar to what the default colors were back in the Windows XP era. It will not change the colors for anyone who has changed the menu colors by clicking on the Options button, Main Menu area, it only changes the defaults for people who have not changed the colors or for new installations.

You can download Pretty Good Solitaire from http://www.goodsol.com/download.html . Or, if you have a previous version installed, you can run the game, go to the Internet menu, and select "Download Latest Version". Be sure to exit the game before you install.

UPGRADES

Version 15.20.1 is a free upgrade for users who originally ordered version 13 (ordered since April 12, 2011) or have paid for an upgrade since that time. It is not a free upgrade for users who originally ordered version 12 or below. Users of older versions can upgrade for $11.95 at http://www.goodsol.com/upgrade.html

LOST CODES

Note that you should only need to type in a code again when installing on a new machine or after a Windows upgrade or reinstall.

IOS 9 AND OUR IPAD GAMES

Apple recently released iOS 9, the latest version of the operating system for iPhones and iPads. For most people, our games worked fine on iOS 9. Unfortunately, there is a bug in iOS 9 that only affects our games on 4th generation iPads (they work fine on earlier iPads like the iPad 1, 2, or 3, and they work fine on later iPads such as the iPad Air).

It took a while for us to figure out exactly what was happening with the games on these iPads and to find a way around the problem. We have submitted an update to Pretty Good Solitaire for iPad and it is now waiting to be approved by Apple. Look for updates for all 5 of our iPad apps to appear in the App Store over the next week, starting with Pretty Good Solitaire and then the other apps will follow.
