Be sure to click on the Options button on the main screen to see and adjust your settings, if you need to. For example, there are several animation speed settings, such as the "AutoPlay Animation Speed" setting that you can change to speed up or slow down animation in the game.

Also, you can check the box "Confirm New Games and Restarts" in the Preferences area if you have problems clicking on the New Game button accidentally.
