The AutoPlay feature is one of the most popular and earliest features added to Pretty Good Solitaire. Our games use “safe” autoplay, meaning it does not move every card up just because it can - it holds cards back that might be needed in the tableau. This occurs only in games where the tableau is built down in alternate color (in games where the talbeau is built down by suit it is unnecessary).

Sometimes, for example, a Three (3) is not moved up even though there is a Two of the same suit already on the foundations. The reason a Three may not be going up, is because it may be needed in the tableau to be played on with a Two that cannot go up itself. This is all controlled by an algorithm, if a card does not go up there is a reason. You can, of course, override this by moving the card manually, particularly if, in this example, a Four of that suit shows up and you want to move it up and need to move the Three up first.

This behavior occurs in all alternate color games, you may see it more often iin multiple deck games due to the sheer number of piles and cards, but it is used in the common games Klondike, FreeCell,and so on.

MAC --

PRETTY GOOD MAHJONGG

Pretty Good MahJongg is our collection of solitaire games that use MahJongg tiles rather than playing cards. It includes over 300 layouts for the classic tile matching game, and 55 solitaire games, including original games such as MahJongg Klondike, MahJongg FreeCell, and MahJongg Spider. A new version of Pretty Good MahJongg is in the works, we will be adding more tile matching layouts. You can create new layouts yourself using the Layout Editor in the full version. FEATURED GAME - LITTLE NAPOLEON

Little Napoleon is a 2 deck Forty Thieves type game.

There are eight foundation piles that are to be built up in suit from Ace to King. The game is won when all of the cards have been moved here.

There are also eight tableau piles. These are built down regardless of suit. Groups of cards may be moved if they form a sequence down in suit (similar to Spider, in suit sequences are preferred). Spaces may be filled by any card. At the start of the game four cards are dealt to each pile, three face down, one face up.

The remainder of the cards form a stock. This is turned over one card at a time to a waste pile by clicking. The top card of the waste pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau. There are no redeals.

Little Napoleon is a fairly easy game, an average players wins 65% of the time, but good players can win nearly every time.
